WELLNESS INFORMATION
(Includes H1N1 and Influenza information)
The Center for Disease Control has reported that H1N1 activity is widespread throughout the United States. New Lenox School District 122 has been preparing for this flu season for several months. A plan is in place to ensure the schools are clean and safe, attendance is monitored and reported daily to the Will County Health Department and a response plan is in place should an outbreak occur in the schools.
New Lenox School District works in partnership with the Center for Disease Control, Will County Health Department and other local officials. We rely on guidance from local, state and national health officials to keep us informed of the latest trends and recommendations. Our number one priority is to maintain a safe and healthy learning environment for our students and staff.
We believe it is important to share all information with the families in our district. It is important that we provide accurate facts and up-to-date information so no one turns to rumors or media stories as a reliable source of communication. As a reminder, H1N1 is simply a flu virus. The best way to minimize the risk of contracting or spreading the flu is to use good hygiene etiquette. Wash your hands often with soap and water and cover all coughs and sneezes with a tissue.
