1st Grade - Tyler

About Me

I am a first year teacher this year and I couldn't be more excited to teach 1st grade at Tyler! I am a career changer. I worked in college admissions for 8 years, specifically helping teachers return to school to earn a Masters degree, Doctorate, or additional license. I decided to return to school myself in August 2019. I graduated in May 2021 from Lewis University with my teaching license and Masters degree in Early Childhood Special Education and ESL endorsement. I am licensed to teach general education birth-2nd grade, Special Education birth-2nd grade, and ESL K-12. I spent half of my student teaching experience in PreK and the other half in 1st grade. I fell in love with 1st grade! I believe in a welcoming community classroom where all of my students are heard, seen, and cherished. I also strive to work closely with my students' families and have open communication. I am a dog mom to my pup named Bentlley! I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, drinking coffee, browsing the farmer's market, spending time in the pool, reading, cooking, and spending time with Bentley!
