For English Language Arts (ELA) students will follow the Savvas Learning ReadyGen series for readying, writing, phonics, grammar and spelling.


Reading: Students will read a variety of grade level fiction and nonfiction texts.

Writing: Students will study elements of effective writing and incorporate these traits into narrative, opinion, and informative writing pieces.

Spelling/Phonics: Students will work on various spelling and phonics activitites throughout the week and will be tested on words once they have sufficient practice. The spelling words list and the dates of spelling tests can be found on the weekly newsletter. Students should study these words each night.

Grammar: Throughout the year, students will practice using correct sentence structure, capitalization, punctuation, prefixes, suffixes, synonyms, antonyms, contractions, and more.

The spelling lists will be posted here as students begin to learn the spelling words. Please study these words with your child to ensure they are ready for the spelling test.

In Math, students will follow the Everyday Math Curricululm. It focuses on problem-solving strategies and using math in everyday life. 

We will also cover multiplication and division. Math Fact Necklaces will begin in January and February. 

Students will be expected to complete the Math Homelinks page Monday-Thursday.

Science and Social Studies

For both Science and Social Studies, we follow TCI Curriculum.
