New Lenox District 122

Associate Superintendent Biography

Liza began her career as a teacher, working with special needs high school students on the Tohono O’odham Nation reservation in Sells, Arizona. A native of Chicago, Liza returned home to teach students with special needs at Lincoln-Way Area Special Education District 843 and Frankfort School District 157-C. After several years in the classroom, Liza hung up her teacher’s bag and turned in her grade book to begin serving New Lenox School District 122, where she is happy to call home.

Liza served District 122 as a School Psychologist, Assistant Director and Director of Special Education before assuming her current role as the Associate Superintendent. As Director, Liza was instrumental in withdrawing from the special education cooperative which allows the New Lenox School District to utilize its own resources to meet the needs of its students.

Liza has a Bachelor’s of Science in Elementary and Special Education from Winona State University, a Master’s of Arts in Psychology from Governors State University, a Master’s of Education from Benedictine University, and a doctoral degree from University of St. Francis. When she’s not at District office or in class, you will likely find Liza on the golf course with her husband, Paul, or just relaxing at home with their son, Nelson.
